Customize your tour

Every group will have its own, unique itinerary, based on a pre-travel interview. You call or email us, or fill in the contact form below and we will get in contact with you. Based on that we will tailor for you a personalized itinerary with a corresponding fixed price which is all-inclusive (see submenu Rates and conditions). For all groups, we want to make you feel like locals to the town for the duration of your stay.

Some of the variables are:

  • length of stay and group size
  • accomodation with us or alternative accomodation
  • what courses to play
  • time of year
  • activities beside golf, like whisky tastings, castle visits, museums etc
  • any meals to be included in the itinerary
  • whether you want us to caddie, play along or just drive you
  • special requests, like access to a teaching professional or a Trackman studio

Generally, you can expect the fixed price to be lower than if you were to book yourself. This is because you don’t need to rent car/cars and because of our discounts on accomodation and green fees.

Take a look at different itineraries in a separate submenu and get in touch to start a discussion on what would suit you and your group.

Target audience

We welcome both the die-hard old-school golf nerds like ourselves with a great interest in golf history, old clubs and memorabilia and any golfers or couples who want a very personlized links experience and who are keen to get insights into how the game developed and was played back in time.

We also specially welcome couples who want to golf in Scotland, but who are beginners or not so well accomplished golfers and who may be in some need of guidance either regarding their own game or how to golf and feel comfortable.

Initially we expect to work with Swedish groups. Later also with American and German groups. But any nationalities are much welcome.

Length of stay and group size

To enable the full authentic historic golf experience, the ideal group size is a fourball that can stay in the 1882 Troonbeachfront house, either 4 golfers or 2 couples.

The typical length of stay is 6 days to enable our own turnover for the next group/next week. Alternative arrangements are possible on request.

Please also see the menu “Eating & sleeping”.

Choice of courses

See the separate submenu with more information about golf courses near and far. And don’t hesitate to get in touch to get advice on what you would probably enjoy the most, depending on what you prioritize. We have local knowledge to help you find what would suit you best.

Our focus in Ayrshire and Arran, but trips further afield are of course possible upon special request.

Included and not included

Generally you will book and pay your own airfare, most likely into Edinburgh, but possibly into Glasgow or Prestwick. Pick-up and drop-off and all other transportation is included, so you don’t need a rental car.

All green-fees, entrance fees, in-house meals, whisky tastings etc in the agreed itinerary are included in the fixed price.

You will have free access to a host both daytime and in the evening to drive you around as needed within the itinerary and also to caddie for you if that is desired.

Not included: external meals unless said so in the itinerary, golf balls, caddy fees for any external caddies, buggies (walking recommended).

What to bring

While the local weather is often sheltered from rain by the Isle of Arran and therefore most probably drier than expected, the weather is unpredictable, and it is much recommended to bring suitable clothes for wind and rain.

You are welcome to bring and use your own clubs, but are also welcome to use any of ours all-inclusive.

We have yet to acquire sets of period attire in all sizes, so feel free to bring any old school golfing attire you may want to use.

Time of year

Summer greens are open year-round, but often winter tees are in use November-February which changes the layout of many holes considerably, but not necessarily for the worst. We consider any time April-October to be fine for golf. Sometimes green-fees are slightly lower until mid May and at the end of October.

Please indicate in the enquiry form below what time of year or dates you would like to come here and any other thoughts on how you would like to design your group’s golf tour.
