Heritage Golf Tours specializes in local trips out of Troon in Ayrshire and Isle of Arran and Kintyre on the Scottish west coast. We also do tours to Ireland, Wales, England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The niche of Heritage Golf Tours is to deliver a very authentic old-school customized Golf experience local to Troon and Ayrshire, based on local knowledge, local contacts and a passion for the game.

We welcome golfers to play modern golf, but will also share bits of history and insights into how golf was played back in time and compare that to today. We will also offer the chance to pick up bits of old-school golf and – for the brave – to play 9 holes with some of our vintage sets from 1900-1990.

Troon in Ayrshire, Scotland is the ideal golfing destination. There are 46 golf courses in Ayrshire and Arran, and 15 of them are True Links. Surrounding Troon you will find 9 true links adjacent to one another so that you can play a ball between all of them – a world record concentration of True Links on the entire planet! The area is steeped in golf history. Tom Morris lived here for 13 years and laid out Prestwick which was the birthplace of The Open in 1860. In total, The Open has been played 37 times in Ayrshire on Royal Troon, Prestwick and Turnberry. The last Open was in 2016, won by Henrik Stenson in an epic battle with Phil Mickelson. And in 2024 The Open is returning to Troon.

Troon has a stunning location on a rock into the Firth of Clyde dividing 22 km of uninterrupted sand beaches with dunes to the north and 13 km to the south. This area is surrounded by the mentioned stretch of 9 True links. Troon also enjoys a micro climate with less rain due to the sheltering islands outside Troon.
